Terms and conditions

Terms for Car Rental

Age
The minimum age for renting a car is 25 years. Exceptions can be made if organizations or companies rent the vehicle and have drivers under 25 years old. This must be agreed upon in advance. Please note that this may result in modified terms for insurance and deductibles.

Payment

Customers without a pre-arranged credit or invoice agreement are required to provide a deposit upon collection of the vehicle. For these customers, the rental amount plus a deposit of NOK 15,000 will be reserved on the customer's credit card. The reserved amount remains in the customer's account but will not be available during the rental period.

Due to the automatic registration of toll charges and ferry costs, the final settlement of the contract takes place 3–4 days after the vehicle has been returned. Once the rental fee, any toll charges, and fuel costs have been deducted, the remaining deposit will be released. The released amount is normally available to the customer within 2–4 business days.

For private customers, we accept Visa and Mastercard as methods of payment. Companies and organisations are welcome to establish a credit or invoice agreement with us – please contact us for more information.

Cancellation Fee
All bookings are binding. Cancellations must be made at least 24 hours before the agreed pickup time. Failure to cancel will incur a fee of 20% of the agreed rental amount, with a minimum of NOK 450. Cancellations made within 12 hours before the pickup time will result in the entire rental amount, or a minimum of one day's rental, being charged.

Pickup and Delivery
Pickup and delivery of the car are done by agreement.

Toll Charges/AutoPASS
All toll charges are billed retrospectively with VAT and an administrative fee per passage.

Fuel
The car must be returned with a full tank. If refueling is necessary, the cost will be charged to the customer with a double markup compared to the pump price.

Parking Fees
Any fees for improper parking are the responsibility of the renter and must be paid immediately. Please be aware that many private parking areas require payment 24/7. Failure to pay fees will result in claims against the renter.

International Fee
For driving outside the Nordic region, a fee of NOK 5,000 applies. Driving outside Norway must be agreed upon in advance. If this is not done, the insurance will be invalid. The rental contract must always be kept in the vehicle. Note that certain countries in Europe are excluded from driving our vehicles; please check this before the rental period starts.

Renter's Responsibility
The renter is fully responsible for the vehicle and its use from pickup to return, including parking and traffic violations. The renter is liable for all damages to or caused by the vehicle according to applicable Norwegian rental conditions.

In the event of collisions, rollovers, or similar incidents, the lessor or their insurance company may seek reimbursement from the renter in cases of gross negligence or violation of rental terms. Damages must be reported to the lessor immediately and to the police if the lessor cannot be reached.

Theft, fire, vandalism, personal injuries, and damage to animals must always be reported to the police and the lessor.

The renter's deductible becomes due immediately in the event of damage, according to the applicable terms.

The renter will be charged a deductible per claim for the following:

  • Damages from poorly secured or moved cargo
  • Holes or stains in the interior
  • Reversing without a spotter
  • Rim damage on tires
  • Damage from snow avalanches where warning signs are posted
  • Damage from using snow chains
  • Damage from driving in places that physically do not suit the vehicle
  • Damage while driving off public roads without written permission

Renter's Obligations
The renter is obligated to handle the vehicle responsibly and avoid:

  • Learner driving
  • Driving outside Norway without permission
  • Illegal use of the vehicle
  • Loaning the vehicle to unauthorized persons
  • Participation in car races, speed trials, or competitions
  • Towing other vehicles
  • Transporting more people than the vehicle's registration allows
  • Driving under the influence
  • Leaving the vehicle unlocked
  • Overloading the vehicle

In the event of technical faults or damages that prevent further use, the lessor must be contacted immediately.

Financial Responsibility
The renter's financial responsibility follows the lessor's applicable Norwegian rental terms and price lists.

Disclaimer
The lessor is not liable for any loss of time, money, or other consequences resulting from the rental agreement. The lessor is also not responsible for property left in the vehicle.

Reservation of Amount
At the start of the rental agreement, the rental amount plus a deposit of NOK 15,000 is reserved. This amount is a guarantee and will be released at the termination and settlement of the rental agreement. The lessor is not responsible for delays in releasing funds due to banking systems.
